Getting To Know... Beau

Tell us about a transformative educational experience.

I remember asking Dennis Leary a question on Inside The Actors Studio about what he thinks an actor can do in order to deal with everything being thrown at you on a TV/Film set during an intense scene. His answer was profound in its simplicity, and also dare I say multiple meaning... "nothing." That was his answer "nothing."

What about transformative professional experiences?

With every new job I always find out more that I don't know. For example, playing both Michael in The Pillowman in my senior thesis and Frankenstein's monster later Off-Broadway at The Hudson Guild Theatre taught me very much about the depth of my sensitivity and paradoxically playing Charlie Fox in Speed The Plow taught me of my capacity for insensitivity.

Why I do what I do...

Acting gives my emotions a home to live fully in, while also being the activity that I feel the most "joy" in doing.

What about ECT inspires you?

The commitment and passion for the truth and magical storytelling that I witnessed in the last two productions at ECT as well as Aaron's story of starting ECT, reasons for doing it, and his vision for moving ECT forward.

Where have you traveled? Where would you like to visit?

France, England, Sweden, Denmark, St. Petersburg (Russia), Finland, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Halifax (Canada) and all over the USA. My next stops will hopefully be New Orleans, Greece, Spain/ Portugal, Scotland/Ireland, Croatia, Turkey . . . basically everywhere else! I dream to see it all!

My favorite "day-off" event would be...

Disneyland (especially at Halloween time!)

If I had one million dollars I would...

Travel the world for one year.

Did you know...

I am born on the infamous "Ides of March."

I'm a world-class tennis player and can compete at the highest levels of the game.

I wrote my undergraduate thesis in communication studies on the "Rhetorical Theme Vision Walt Disney & Disneyland."
