Tell us about a transformative educational experience.
The first day of my first college acting class, we did this simple exercise where you stand at opposite ends of the room from someone, and you just look at each other, and slowly walk towards each other, and connect in the middle. That experience was the first time I really started looking past the technique of acting and finding the human connection.
What about transformative professional experiences?
My first professional job was with a theatre that was incredibly, poorly managed. The whole thing was a mess, and in the end my cast-mates and I were paid less than half of what we were contracted for. But the awful management really solidified for me that this was what I wanted to do with my life, and that I'd keep doing it no matter how terrible the situation.
Why I do what I do...
I do it because I love to do it, plain and simple. There are plenty of other things I could be doing, but nothing else satisfies me like theatre.
What about ECT inspires you?
I'm inspired by the genuine people, and the focus on finding truth over spectacle and showmanship. Also, the enormous potential for the growth of the company.
Where have you traveled? Where would you like to visit?
Traveled to San Fransisco, Vancouver, Cancun, D.C., NYC, London, a few places in Ireland, and various other places around the U.S. Dream destination is New Zealand. Also Australia.
My favorite "day-off" event would be...
Just drop me in the wilderness and let me explore for a day.
If I had one million dollars I would...
Travel the world, then get a small house with a big yard and adopt as many dogs as I can.
Did you know...
I dabble in other arts, like writing, painting, and general crafting.
Roughly 75% of the shirts I own are tie dye.
I have a pet hedgehog named Fish.
